Lagoon 50 2019

This 2019 Lagoon 50 is a 14.76 metre sailing catamaran laid out with five cabins. Lagoon's most popular 50-foot platform — with its generous flybridge, forward-stepped mast and living space spread across both hulls — offers markedly more room aboard than a monohull of comparable length.

The interior comprises five cabins and four heads, sleeping up to nine. Three of the heads have electric fresh-water toilets. Saloon and cabins are air conditioned and heated throughout. The galley wants for nothing: gas oven, microwave with grill, four-burner hob, 130 litre refrigerator, 110 litre freezer, six-place dishwasher and a Siemens washer-dryer.

Navigation equipment is a complete B&G suite: radar, chartplotter, depth sounder, wind instruments, AIS, autopilot and VHF radio, alongside a satellite telephone. A bow thruster, an electric windlass controlled from the helm and electric winches take care of manoeuvring. The sail wardrobe consists of a square-top Dacron mainsail, genoa, Code 0 and spinnaker (Oxley Sails) set from a bowsprit; a storm jib is also aboard.

She is equipped to stay self-sufficient for long periods: a 100 litre per hour watermaker, three solar panels, a 12/220V 2000 VA inverter, a generator, 2 x 50 Ah starter and 6 x 140 Ah service battery banks, a battery charger and shore power. Power comes from twin Yanmar 4JH80 diesels (80 hp) on saildrives with folding three-blade propellers.

Outdoor living is equally complete: a rigid bimini with windscreen, teak-laid cockpit and decks, a hydraulic bathing platform and ladder, an outside shower, LED and underwater lighting, and a swivelling barbecue/plancha aft. Safety equipment includes a liferaft, EPIRB, life jackets, fire extinguishers, a first aid kit and both manual and electric bilge pumps; fishing gear and a diving compressor are aboard as well.
